Oh Look!

Oh look it's how I feel about everything right now! Haha! Ya...

Polar Plunge

I joined the rowing team last week. I remember it clearly. It was a Wednesday evening and my mother waltzed into my room and exclaimed: "You're going to rowing in thirty minutes. Be ready," I jumped off the floor and tossed on some work out clothes.

I arrived and I rowed. I rowed some more on Friday. On Saturday and Sunday I got up at five AM and drove to a place for a rowing race. It was very fun.

Then came Monday. Monday started out like your average rowing day, but today, many people showed up. A lot of them were new. Including one boy who I shall call Guy. Our coach, Nick instructed four girls to get in the four man boat, the one that I had rowed in so far. Our coxswain (pronounced cok-sin) was in there as well. So they got in. Then the male and female who usually rowed the singles got those in the water and rowed away.

Now only Guy and I were left. Nick told us we were rowing the double today. This was completely new to me, especially since on the four man, you only use one oar. On the double however, each person has two separate oars per person. This was nerve wracking in of itself. To make matters worse, neither Guy nor I had ever rowed a double, so we had no clue what the Hell we were doing.

We did okay for the first time in the double. For a while, anyway, As we were heading back to the dock to talk to Nick, well that was where it all turned to Hell. See, the female in the single was doing a start at the dock, so we had no way of getting to the dock, so we had to wait. As we were waiting, we drifted towards a buoy.

Now we were in a $30,000 Olympic row boat. We had no intention of hitting a buoy and getting murdered by the coach. So we rowed backwards like crazy. Unfortunately, we got unbalanced. Most people would be able to save the boat from tipping. Not two newbies who had no clue what we were doing. We tipped. Our boat flipped over completely. We were in the freezing lake for at least 15 minutes. I could barely walk. It hurt like a bitch.

Here is a video of us tipping. We're in the back corner.

In case you missed that:
You can clearly see us here (kind of)
And we're gone.

Most normal people would quit rowing after that, but not Guy and I. We both have continued to show up and row, though only in the four man from now on.

Alot of Forest

Google is wrong. Yes. The almighty Google is finally wrong about something. What? How is this possible!

Well my friends and such, I have witnessed it with my own eyes. Google has finally been wrong about something. Let me tell you the story of how I came across this issue:

I was just sitting in English class after I had finished our new Sage Testing thingy. I happened to be working on our last ever vital vocabulary. I'm planning on writing a short story for it, because you know, short stories and stuff. So I was looking up places with heavy forests. The words I typed in though, were "places with a lot of forest" and that my dears, is where the problem lies. We all know how google automatically corrects you with

We all know the "Did you mean" things. Google corrected me when I was looking for forests. What's wrong with what I typed though? According to Google:

A lot is one word. Now the author of Hyperbole and a Half did a post on this. So I decided to take her creature and make one of the new Google mistake:

Credit to Hyperbole and a Half
Alot of forest! So yes. The world is becoming more and more stupid. This has been proven by Google's incapability to spell even one of the simplest things. I hope that together, we can at least try to make the world smart again so we don't end up like Idiocracy. Thank you for listening (reading) to my rant. Have a beautiful day filled with correct spelling and smartness.

Last Day

Today was a sad, sad, day for me. It was my last day of lacrosse for the season. We had a game and it was awesome. We won 8-4 and it was fabulous. I played goalie for the first half of the game and I only let two goals in. I saved four goals as well.

I really love lacrosse. It's my favorite sport ever. That and if I ever tried soccer I'd fall on my face because I can't run and kick a ball at the same time.

Anyway, in the game, there was one player on the other team, number three. She was scary. She could run really fast and would always shoot. Not only that, but she called out a play.

At one point in the first half, while I was goalie, we got a yellow card. That means that one person on our team has to sit out for two minutes. The other team was rewarded with the ball. Number three sprinted it down the field and brought the ball to our end. Our defense was awesome considering we were playing man down. She brought it to the lower left side of the field and started yelling "Po" Everyone was confused, that is until after she shot. She shot at the goal and made it in. It had been a direct shot since she beat her defender.

After that I looked to the other side of the net and realized what happened. The play was named "Po." It was meant to draw our defense away. Their attack would run to the opposite side of the field than the ball, drawing all our defense to them. It was really smart. It was annoying though.

During the second half, I got to play attack. I didn't score any goals, but I was able to get the ball at one point. It was pretty awesome. So all in all, it was an awesome last game. We played really hard and we won the game. It was cool. Also, we got to wear our white uniforms, which are my favorite.
I'm number 21

Seeing Stars

Over the spring break, I decided I wanted to do artwork. Specifically, spray paint. If you've ever travelled to a large city, you've probably seen street artists. I'm not talking about the kind of artists who do graffiti or put chalk on the sidewalks to do those fricking amazing drawing such as:
Image from Google
I mean those street artists who take their spray paint and paper and stuff and make those awesome space scenes. They do it in, like, three minutes right in front of you. I decided I wanted to do those. So the first thing I did before I started was google how to make those. I learned pretty quickly. After that I went and got all the stuff I would need.

I went outside in the backyard (where my parents told me I had to be) and I started to spray. I think that they turned out pretty kick ass if I do say so myself.
What do you think?

The only thing I had trouble with at first was the stars. They were pretty hard to do and not matter how many videos I watched, or articles I read, I couldn't figure out how to do them. Then, I figured out a common thing in all of the tutorials. In all of them, you flicked the white paint to make it splatter. Seeing as how I wasn't able to do that, I didn't know I would be able to do it.

Then I figured it out. I had a paint spatula thingy. I sprayed a bunch of white onto the tip, held it over the paper, then flicked it. It worked pretty well and I soon got the hang of it. In thirty minutes, I was able to make five or six scenes.

I really enjoy doing this, and who knows, maybe I'll be able to sell them eventually.

Free Love

Today I am participating in the National Day of Silence. My voice will not be heard to support those LGBT who have no voice. I myself know for a fact that I am not straight. Honestly though, I have no idea what my sexuality is. I can't put a label on it. I am a person who likes humans. Some more than others, but I still believe in equality for all.

I'm taking a stand for all those who have no way to take one for themselves. Today I fight for the rights of those who are unable to fight for themselves. So when you do not hear my voice today, think of all those whose voices are never heard. All those who need our help.

Boss Ass Bitch

So recently my boyfriend broke up with me. It was sad, but it inspired me! It inspired some pretty fab art work. I did a painting... Some of you might know those classic and cliche broken heart pictures that have some "deep and meaningful" quote on them... Well I did something like that... Though, it's a bit different...
*Accurate, but not actual painting...*

Ya... So I painted that... It looks pretty fab in real life. I also thought of a really funny way to give it to him if I wanted to. I was talking with Lauren and we came up with this idea. So get some cardboard and spray paint. Then we would make the cardboard look like a car using the spray paint. We would do this since none of us can actually drive...

Every Thursday, the ex-boyfriend goes to Burger King with his friends. So we were thinking that over spring break we get the "car" and go to Burger King. We hang out until he arrives, and when he does arrive, we walk up to him in the car. The entire time we would be playing the song "Boss Ass Bitch".

So we go up to him and "roll down the window" of the "car" somehow. We look at him then be all like "I have something for you," and hand him the painting. Before he can say anything, walk away in the car.
*Accurate*

Ya... I kinda wanna do that. I just think it would be really funny to see people's faces when we walked up in a cardboard car playing music like that... I just think that "Boss Ass Bitch" would be really funny.

Fo course I would also have to go through the drive-through in my "car". Why wouldn't I? Anyway, have a lovely day and don't be surprised if you see a cardboard car over spring break next week.

#Artsy!!!

So in our comp tech class, we had to take a bunch of pictures and turn them 3D. So I decided to share my pictures with you. I took some pretty "deep" and "artsy" photos. Really I just had an iPad and Lauren...
But first, let me take a selfie!

Selfie with Lauren!
Much picture, so artsy. Wow.

Lauren checking her phone...

Lauren posing randomly...

This one reminds me of tampon commercials...

I like this one. It has feet.

Lauren got me sitting down...

Oh look the basketball court!

I got her feet behind the fence.

She's so adorable!

So those photos were some of the ones I considered using for my project. I only used a couple of them though. Afterwords, Lauren and I were joking about how we could be models and it turned into this...
My body is ready...

For a picture!! :D

So that's how that happened... So artsy right?

Just an Average Lunch Day...

So the average day at school, as most of you know, is quite boring (no offense teachers). Our favorite time of day (for most of us at least) is lunch. We get to sit, eat, talk with our friends, it's great. While most people have normal conversations about normal stuff, like latest gossip, boys, after school activities, ect. My friends and I, we have really odd conversations about things like sex, how we're married to one another, body modifications, piercings, ect. Also, most people sit at the tables. We personally prefer the stairs. We, to say the least, are not normal.

An average lunch for me includes Courtney sitting over there like:

And I'll be over on the other side of her like:

We'll be having one of our "normal" lunch conversations, when suddenly, a wild Terran appears!

*accurate*

Terran will then sit down in front of me and stick his entire hand in my shoe and proceed to boot rape me, as I so eloquently put it.
*I realize his eyes are blue, not green, sorry*
This has become normal for me. We have also come to the obvious conclusion that I am Terran's misstress and Courtney is obviously our daughter. My name is Sharquisha, Terran will be henceforth known only as Shaniqua, and our beautiful baby girl is Athenashaqueque.

This makes perfect sense right?

So the other day (yesterday actually) the bell rang for fourth period. I stood up on the steps and tried to grab my stuff, but alas, I was kidnapped by a wild Shaniqua. He grabbed me and hoisted me onto his back and proceeded to run across the lunch room after everyone evacuated.
*again, I got his eyes wrong, sorry*
It was finally after me kicking his knees and Courtney over on the other side of the room like:
Was I released from his hold and sent free to go to class. This, my dear readers, is an accurate representation of my normal day at lunch.

Gathering of the Tribes

I have this lacrosse tournament thingy called Gathering of the Tribes. GOTT is basically when a bunch of high school lacrosse teams get together and battle it out to get into the championship game. JV boys vs. JV boys, JV girls vs. JV girls, Varsity boys vs. Varsity boys, and Varsity girls vs. Varsity girls. That's pretty much how it goes down. We get four games, and the championship game if we make it.

Today we had two games. Tomorrow we will have two games. It was super exciting and fun. I really enjoyed playing. The first game was awesome and we won 11-01. We kicked ass. The second game we unfortunately lost, but that was because of many factors.

The first reason was because the other team was cheating. They would push our girls onto the ground while going for a ground ball. That's very illegal in lacrosse. They would also had a lot of crease violations. A crease violation is where any player, besides the goalie, crosses into the goal crease with either her stick or body. This is how they scored their last point. They would also pull a lot more illegal moves, which was not cool on their part.

Another reason we lost was because the other team didn't have enough girls sign up this year, so their team is pretty much JV and Varsity combined. So I guess it is pretty impressive we only lost by one point.

The other reason was that the referees were being unfair. They would call our team for things that the other team did, such as illegal checking. They would also call us for everything, even if they didn't happen, while they never called the other team for anything illegal they did. It was pretty obvious that the refs were favoring the other team. I just don't think that's cool. Also, after the game, we were running towards out goalie as we usually do, and I heard one of the refs say something that was totally rude and uncalled for.

So the other team scored the first goal and I heard the ref at the end of the game say "Once they scored the first goal I knew they were going to win," So she was basically saying that she knew we were going to lose and she just went and had to be a bitch about. Within earshot. I'm sorry for ranting, but all of this just pisses me off. I hate it when teams cheat and when refs favor. It's not cool at all. Thanks for reading my rant.
This is my baby, Roosevelt.

Teton Science School Trip

So I got back from the Teton Science School today. It was amazing. I had so much fun and I really hope I can go back someday. So I'm going to give a quick synopsis of what happened over the week.

So on Monday we got to school and hopped on the bus at eight AM. We drove for five hours with only one stop the entire time. We then continued on our journey and got to TSS (Teton Science School). We dropped off our stuff outside the dorms, went to the dining hall for an introduction, and then went to the dorms for another small introduction. We put our gear into the rooms, put on our gear for outdoors, and split into our field groups that we were assigned. After that, we got cross-country skis and went out for a little practice. After that, we went to the actual track and we skied for a while. We got back, and sat around and did homework, then went to dinner. After that we went to an evening program (EP) and learned stuff. We then went back to our dorms, did homework, then went to sleep.

On Tuesday, we woke up bright and early and went to breakfast. We ate food then got ready to go out to the field. We were cross-country skiing again. We got on the bus, and drove to our location. When we got off the bus, we all got a nice face-full of bear spray!

What happened with that was our guide/teacher lady, Laura, stepped off the bus without realizing the safety had broken on her bear spray. The bear spray then proceeded to spray into the air and when we stepped off the bus, we inhaled it. It was terrible.

So after that adventure, we grabbed our gear and set off. We went for a while, played some games, ate lunch, dug a snow pit that was five feet deep, and set off again. We made it 2.5 miles before we turned back and got back on the bus to go back to the campus. We got back, showered, ate dinner, went to our EP, did homework, then slept. All in all, it was a successful day.

Wednesday wasn't as exciting with us snow shoeing. We went a little bit, dug two snow pits, and learned all about the snow. After that, we built a snowman. We then headed back for the bus on a different, but effective, route. We then went to dinner, EP, homework, and bed.

On Thursday, we went to a preserve and cut off some willow branches so that in the summer they can plant more willows in places that they're needed. After that, we went to another place and we went cross-country skiing some more. Our group went on a quote walk, where one leader put out quotes and the rest of us read the quotes while skiing by ourselves. Once we got to the end, we waited for everybody, then we started to head back while playing camouflage. it was awesome. We got to the end of the route back and went to the campus. We went to dinner, EP, packed, and slept.

Today, we woke up, went to breakfast, went to a closing thing, cleaned our lodges, and hopped on the bus. We took a five hour drive with one stop back to Park City and got here around the end of the school day. It was a really fun trip. I made some new friends in people I don't usually talk to. If you want to know more, check out the blog about the trip.

Tutorial: Anime Face

So if you've ever read any of my friends blogs (Audrey, Lyndsey, Courtney) they all have posts about art. I mean, I did one earlier, but I'm gonna do another one cuz I feel like it. Deal with it.

Anyway, so I love to draw. I draw whenever I get bored, and most of the time, my art winds up on my wall. One thing that I particularly enjoy drawing is anime/manga. So I suppose I'll do a short tutorial on how I do my art.

So here we go I guess...

First you start by drawing a circle. This will help with the basic head shape. It doesn't have to be perfect.

Next you draw the jaw. Erase the bottom of the circle too. This is your head shape.

Third you draw the outline of the eyes. You can choose whatever shape you want, I just went with a classic one that you see in many anime and manga.

After you outline the eyes, add detail to them.

Finish the face by adding the mouth, nose, and blush.

Once you finish the face, you can draw the hair, choose any style you like, I prefer long hair with bangs.

Finally, you can add the neck and shoulders, add a few details you forgot, and you're finished!

So that's my process of drawing a face. If you decide to draw this, it might not turn out the best, my old drawings weren't that great either. You'll get better with practice though! This drawings wasn't one of my best considering it was done in ten minutes while watching TV. My other drawings are pretty good though. So have fun drawing, and draw away!

Valentine's Day

Valentine's day can be very sad for some people. For me though, it was very fun. I was able to hang out with my boyfriend and we had a lot of fun. First we went up to Main Street and we went roller blading. We grabbed the rollerblades that he keeps in his trunk (I don't know why) and we went to the city park and we rollerbladed around for a bit. After that we went down to Redstone and got burgers at Five Guys. Five Guys is an amazing burger joint. It's great and I totally recommend it.

So after all that fun stuff, we went to the movies. We went and saw the new Lego Movie. Now let me tell you a thing. I was not expecting the movie to end how it did at all. I won't give away the ending, but I will say you should totally see it. Somehow they managed to get me to ship lego characters together.

Shipping basically means I take two people (or anything really) in put them together in a relationship and I love it. It's weird. I know, but somehow a movie made me ship legos together. It's so odd. It was a really good movie though.

The boyfriending figure also managed to get me a purple stuffed bear. He doesn't have a name yet. I hope that you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day though, even if you spent it alone on Netflix with self-bought chocolate. I would totally do that if I didn't have a boyfriend. So yes. And I love all of you if you read my blog :3.

A poem:

Hella cute,
Hella fine,
Be my Hella Valentine?

This be my new bear :3
